Breathing Meditation Explanation
Meditation is a centuries-old relaxation technique that continues to be practiced in all parts of the world. In many religions, including Buddhism, Judaism and others, meditation is the common practice for alleviating the stress of daily life, for reconnecting with one’s spirituality, and for getting in touch with the most deeply meaningful levels of consciousness.
Life in today’s society comes with a constant bombardment of stress-filled events. This brings a strain on the body and mind. Eventually as it builds up, your body begins to take on physical ailments such as pains in the body, headaches, and many other symptoms that can affect your quality of life. While many have looked for alternate and more natural ways to deal with these problems, they can easily solve them through just one ten to fifteen minute per day session of meditation which won’t cost you a dime.
Mediation is one avenue that has been used for many purposes. Buddhists prefer to cross their legs as they meditate, but this does not mean every form requires this stance in order for it to work. Catholics, for example, recite the rosary which is a form of meditation. Other religions incorporate meditation into their services when they recite the Lord’s Prayer. Essentially, meditation is the act of concentrating so fully on something that the mind is taken to another level of consciousness. This allows one to escape from their aches, pains, or even anxiety when the right technique is used. There is proof that for hundreds of years Meditation is a top choice for many people to find relief from anxiety and pain. Throughout time people have sought ways to soothe the mind and body by reaching a state of mind that, for a time, removes the cares and woes of everyday life. You can meditate in a number of ways. One can be sitting, walking, or doing a simple task that is repeated. One concentrates on anything that will require all thoughts to be directed to it. Your focus can be placed on a single though, word, thing. Your focus is so strong that no distractions will come to your mind. You need to find a place that has low noise volume so that you are not easily interupted.
There are two different types of Mediation, known as mindfulness and concentration. Basically concentration is through shear focus on something to block out distractions, and mindfulness is an open concentration which allows you to find zen. It is up to you to decide which route you wish to take.
If you want to find a simple way to escape from the trials and tribulations of everyday life, meditation may be the answer. It has been practiced in and out of religious traditions for centuries, such as in the medical community, and has provided much relief for those suffering from anxiety, depression, chronic or terminial illness, stress-related injuries, or for those who just want to feel in control of their life and body again.
Many of the Eastern traditions have been adapted in the Western world. One of the most popular and effective traditions is meditation, which has been known to cure mental and physical pain when other forms of treatment failed. Being able to find relief without having to constantly visit the doctor and take medications which may, in reality, harm the body has been the goal of many people in our modern society and this technique is once again proving very effective.
